How do I book a stay at Mokha Grove?

What is the cancellation policy?

The hosts explain their cancellation terms on WhatsApp before you pay. Bookings made on Airbnb follow Airbnb's own policy.

What does the tariff include?

Your suite, breakfast, the guided estate walk, birdwatching, the bonfire, stargazing, Wi-Fi and parking. The jeep drive and air-rifle target shooting are paid add-ons, starting at ~₹1,500 (approximate; confirm with the host).

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 1 PM and check-out is by 12 noon.

How many people can stay?

Each Signature Suite sleeps 2 adults and 1 child, with extra floor mattresses for a small charge. When both suites are free you can book them together, for up to 4 adults and 2 children.

Do the rooms have air conditioning?

No. The hill climate keeps the suites cool, and each has a high-speed ceiling fan and window mosquito nets.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free Wi-Fi. An inverter keeps the Wi-Fi, lights and fans running during power cuts.

Is parking available?

Yes. Parking is free, on the property.

Is breakfast included?

Yes. A home-cooked breakfast is included with every stay, served in the open dining pavilion.

Is dinner available?

Yes, with prior notice and at extra cost: homely Coorg and Malabar food, veg and non-veg.

Who can stay

Who can stay at Mokha Grove?

Families, couples, and small groups of friends who book both suites. No stag or party groups.

Can we bring young children?

Yes. There's a kids' zone, table tennis, carrom and board games. Tell the hosts your children's ages when you enquire.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, Mokha Grove is pet-friendly. Cooper, the hosts' dog, lives on the estate.

Is smoking allowed?

Outdoors and on the balconies only, never inside the suites.

How far is Mokha Grove from Bengaluru?

About 233 km by road, usually 5 to 6 hours, via Mysuru and Hunsur.

How far is it from Mysuru?

About 95 km by road, roughly 2 to 2½ hours, via Hunsur.

What is the nearest airport?

Kannur International Airport (CNN) in Kerala, about 71 km by road and roughly 1 h 45 to 2 h 15 via Iritty. Mysuru (MYQ) is about 104 km away, Mangaluru (IXE) about 172 km and Bengaluru (BLR) about 265 km.

What is the nearest railway station?

Coorg has no railway station. The nearest are Mysuru Junction (about 94 km) and, on the Kerala side, Thalassery or Kannur (about 93 km). Each is roughly 2 to 2¾ hours by road.

Can I get there by bus?

Yes, to the nearby towns. KSRTC buses from Bengaluru stop at Virajpet and Gonikoppal, about 13 to 14 km from the estate. Message the hosts about the last stretch.

How far is Nagarahole National Park?

About an hour's drive (roughly 49 km) to the Kodagu-side Nanachi safari gate near Kutta. Safari slots and fees change, so check them before you go.

Seasons and coffee

What is the best time to visit Coorg?

October to March, when the weather is cool and dry; November to February brings the clearest night skies. The monsoon usually arrives in early June and eases by mid-September. Mokha Grove is open all year.

Is Mokha Grove a working coffee estate?

Mokha Grove is a homestay inside the family's coffee estate. The hosts run the homestay, not the plantation's commercial coffee operations.

When does coffee blossom in Coorg?

After the first pre-monsoon blossom showers: February to March for Robusta and March to April for Arabica, according to the Coffee Board. The dates move from year to year with the rain.

When is coffee harvested in Coorg?

Arabica from November to January and Robusta from December to February, according to the Coffee Board. South Coorg grows mostly Robusta.

Where can I buy Coorg honey near Pollibetta?

The Coorg Honey and Wax Producers' Co-operative Society in Virajpet, about 13 km from the estate, sells local honey. Founded in 1936, it is described as India's first honey producers' co-operative. Check opening hours locally.
